Matthew Byrne, Midland Criminal Attorney

Matthew Byrne graduated from Tulane University with a B.S. and majors in Molecular Biology and Philosophy and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law.

Mr. Byrne has practiced both criminal law as a defense attorney and civil law as an attorney for the State. He was part of a trial team that avoided the death penalty, and has obtained multiple stays of execution from the Court of Criminal Appeals. Mr. Byrne handles misdemeanor and complex felony criminal cases throughout the Permian Basin.

For the State, Mr. Byrne conducted administrative hearings and rendered decisions, and later defended agency decisions as an Assistant Attorney General.
